3D Design 1.1
Parametric 3D models and 2D views in the browser
3D Design lets you build mechanical solids in the browser — without installing a CAD system. Geometry stays precise and parametric, not just a coarse triangle mesh.
Local processing: Models stay in the browser. There is no upload to the Roltec server. STEP and STL export also run locally.
What you can model in the first version
- Box, cylinder, sphere and cone with exact millimetre values
- Move and rotate
- Union and hole (group)
- Fillet
- Distance and volume measurement
- Undo/Redo and save as .roltec3d
- Export as STEP and STL
- Simple 2D views (front, top, side) with overall dimensions
How the tool works
- Drag a shape from the palette into the 3D view, or click it
- Enter millimetre dimensions or move the object
- Mark bodies as Solid or Hole and group them
- Optionally add a fillet
- Export STEP, STL or 2D SVG — or hand the model to other Roltec tools
Parametric history
Every object remains a feature. If you later change a box width from 80 mm to 100 mm, the hole and fillet are recomputed. The project is stored as Roltec JSON (.roltec3d).
Hole like Tinkercad
A cylinder can be a Solid or a Hole. After Group you get a real cut in the solid — simple to use, precise underneath.

From the designer you can pass models to STEP Viewer, STL analysis, wall-thickness analysis, FEM and injection-moulding analysis — a small engineering chain around one part.
Privacy
Calculation runs in the browser. Roltec serves the page and later optional project storage — your geometry does not need to be uploaded to the server.
