FEM 1.5 CalculiX
FEM 1.5 CalculiX – online finite element analysis
With this tool, you can run calculations on 3D parts from STEP files and receive a clear results report with the most important metrics.
What is FEM 1.5 CalculiX used for?
With an FEA calculation (finite element method), stresses, deformations and loads on parts can be evaluated during design. This enables weak points to be identified early and designs to be optimised before manufacturing.
Typical applications:
- Strength calculation of machine parts
- Stress and deformation analysis
- Design optimisation
- Checking parts before manufacturing
- Comparing design variants
How does the FEA calculation work?
- STEP file hochladen
- Define material and loads
- Start FEA calculation
- Evaluate stresses and deformations
- Download results report
Boundary conditions in the 3D model
After uploading the STEP file, you can select the support face and load face directly in the 3D model. The support is fully fixed; the entered total force is distributed over the selected face. If no valid selection is available, the tool automatically uses faces near Zmin and Zmax as a fallback. These boundary conditions are intended for a quick check and do not replace an engineered support model.
Which results are produced?
- Von Mises stresses
- Deformations
- Displacements
- Safety margins
- graphical result visualisations
Current limitations
- Large or finely meshed models require more compute time
- Current maximum file size is 50 MB per STEP file
- Results should be reviewed by a qualified engineer before critical manufacturing decisions
