STEP Viewer Online

Information about the STEP Viewer Online (tap briefly to open)

View STEP files directly online in the browser

This tool displays STEP files directly in the browser – without an installed CAD system. 3D models can be opened quickly, analysed and viewed interactively.

Processing runs locally in the browser using modern web technologies such as OpenCascade and WebAssembly.

Especially suitable for:

  • Design engineers and engineers
  • Customers and suppliers
  • Project management and management
  • Production and manufacturing
  • technical reviews and presentations

STEP viewer features

The online viewer supports various tools for analysing 3D models:

  • Rotate, zoom and pan
  • Section view for cross-sections
  • Exploded view for assemblies
  • Measurements of distance, angle and diameter
  • Display of complex assemblies

How does the STEP viewer work?

  1. Select STEP file (.step or .stp)
  2. Load geometry locally in the browser
  3. Automatically generate the 3D model
  4. Use interactive analysis tools
  5. View and inspect the model online

The 3D geometry is processed and visualised directly in the browser.

Section view and exploded view

With the section function, internal geometries, channels and assembly structures can be analysed. This is particularly helpful for technical inspections and design.

The exploded view automatically separates individual parts and makes it easier to understand complex assemblies and subassemblies.

Measurement functions

The viewer supports various measurement tools:

  • Distance between points
  • Angle measurement
  • Radius and diameter checks
  • Analysis of technical geometries

Current limitations

  • Very large assemblies may take longer to load
  • PMI and native CAD dimensions are not fully supported
  • Very large files may be rejected
  • An internet connection is required for certain libraries
