Schema Editor
Schema editor for heating and hydraulic systems
With this online tool, you can create and edit hydraulic and heating schematics directly in the browser. Components are dragged onto the workspace via Drag & Drop, connected to each other, and assembled into a complete pipe network.
The resulting schema can be saved as JSON and used for further calculations or simulations.
How does the editor work?
- Select components from the palette
- Place elements on the workspace via Drag & Drop
- Connect components with pipelines
- Edit component properties
- Validate the schema and save or load it as JSON
Optionally, the network structure can be checked for completeness and correct connections.
Available elements
- Heat generator
- Pump
- Storage
- Collector
- T-joint / node
- Pipes
- Valves
- Heat exchanger
- Radiator
- Heating circuit
- Expansion tank
What are the benefits of the schema editor?
- easy operation via Drag & Drop
- fast creation of technical hydraulic schematics
- clear visualization of complex pipe networks
- JSON export for further calculations
- suitable for planning, documentation, and training
What is the schema editor used for?
The editor supports the planning and documentation of heating, district heating, and hydraulic systems. It is suitable for preparing pipe network calculations as well as visualizing technical systems.
Typical applications:
- Heating systems
- District heating systems
- Hydraulic pipe networks
- Heat pump systems
- Industrial plants
- Training and engineering
Further processing of the schematics
The generated JSON files can be used as a basis for pipe network calculations, hydraulic analyses, or additional simulation tools. This efficiently supports the entire planning process from the schema to the technical calculation.
How is a new element connected to the network?
In the editor: devices = nodes, pipe = connection (edge) between connection points.
Add element
- Drag or tap the symbol from Available elements onto the workspace - the element appears at the selected position.
- Pipe is not placed on the canvas as a separate symbol. It is created only when you connect two ports.
Connect to other elements
- Point to a colored connector (handle) on an element.
- Drag the line to the connector of another element and release.
- A pipe is created (orange = supply, blue = return - depending on connection type).
- Tap the pipe → edit length, diameter, material, etc. under Properties.
Connection types
- Heat generator, pump, valve, radiator, heat exchanger, collector - via the respective ports (supply/return, inlet/outlet ...).
- Node - branching or merging point; multiple pipes can connect to it.
- Temperature sensor / pressure sensor - branch connection: tap port at the bottom to the pipe or node.
- Flow meter - in-line: inlet → outlet between two pipe sections.
A newly placed element initially sits only on the workspace. It becomes part of the network once its ports are connected via pipes to other elements or a node.
